Lisa has over 22 years of assessment and counseling experience. Lisa graduated with her MSW from Adelphi University in New York. Lisa has experience providing crisis evaluations to determine appropriate level of care, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, family and couples therapy, parental education, and substance abuse assessment. Lisa has also been a Quality Management Reviewer in New York City, conducting research that evaluated the quality of services being provided to HIV/AIDS clients. Lisa has worked with multiple populations, including the adult, geriatric and disabled population in the community and in Assisted Living Facilities. Lisa has a particular specialty with geriatric populations having worked for 12 years as a medical social worker for the Visiting Nurse of Boston where she provided short-term counseling, facilitated family meetings, and linked patients to community resources. Her most recent experience is utilizing Motivational interviewing and substance abuse assessment with Veterans around pain management in order to link them to services within the VA system.
